Conflict Minerals Policy Statement

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued the final conflict minerals rule under Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (the “Conflict Minerals Rule”) on August 22, 2012.  These rules require public companies to disclose whether the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain conflict minerals (tin, tungsten, tantalum, and gold).  Even though we are a privately held company, Genie Electronics Company, Inc. is committed to sourcing components and materials from companies that reflect our values regarding human rights, ethics, and environmental responsibility.

Genie Electronics Company, Inc. supports the goal of ending violence, human rights violations, and environmental abuses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and any country that may prosper from trade in these minerals.

Genie Electronics Company, Inc. will work with our customers cooperatively as we implement conflict minerals compliance programs in our supply chain, and we expect our suppliers to support us as well.  We may decide to discontinue partnerships with suppliers who fail to comply with our efforts to conform to the Conflict Minerals Rule.
